# IPOD Pairings

Learn how IPOD pairings create IPOD-denominated coin markets, how Feel.cash routes their multi-hop trades, and how trading fees accumulate in IPOD.

**Launch a coin. Pair it with IPOD. Create a new path into the IPOD ecosystem.**

An IPOD-paired coin has its own permanent onchain market between the new coin and [IPOD](https://feel.cash/ipod) on Base. IPOD is the pool's numeraire: it is the asset on the other side of the market and the unit in which the pool quotes the new coin.

Every pairing is a separate coin and a separate market. Pairing with IPOD does not make the new coin part of IPOD, give it a guaranteed price, or guarantee liquidity or trading volume.

## How an IPOD-paired market starts

At launch, the new coin's full supply is placed into its permanent Uniswap v4 pool. IPOD enters that pool when buyers trade into the coin; it is not a hidden creator allocation or a promise that liquidity has already arrived.

An optional dev buy can be the first purchase. After launch, every buy and sell changes the balance between the new coin and IPOD in its pool:

* A buy sends IPOD into the paired coin's pool and removes some of the new coin.
* A sell sends the new coin back into its pool and removes some IPOD.

More IPOD-paired coins create more markets that can generate demand for IPOD. Actual demand and IPOD accumulation depend on completed trading activity; creating a pairing alone does not guarantee either one.

## Why the route is multi-hop

IPOD is itself traded against **AAPLc**, an Apple tokenized-stock asset on Base. A Cash trade for an IPOD-paired coin therefore uses several connected pools.

A buy on Feel.cash can follow this canonical path:

**Cash / USDC → AAPLc → IPOD → IPOD-paired coin**

A sell follows the reverse path:

**IPOD-paired coin → IPOD → AAPLc → Cash / USDC**

This multi-hop structure makes IPOD pairings more exotic than a direct WETH- or USDC-paired market. A router must discover every required pool, quote the complete path, and execute every hop together.

## Where to trade while routers index the markets

**Feel.cash is currently the recommended and safest supported way to buy or sell an IPOD-paired coin.** Feel.cash resolves the coin's immutable IPOD pool, uses the canonical IPOD/AAPLc connection, checks the full route immediately before signing, and prepares the hops as one atomic execution. If one required step cannot satisfy the accepted minimum, the trade reverts rather than intentionally completing only part of the route.

We are working with external routers and indexers so they can discover and support IPOD-paired markets correctly. Their coverage can lag while they add the IPOD/AAPLc connection, each new coin/IPOD pool, and the complete multi-hop execution path.

Until a third-party router shows a fresh executable quote for the full route, do not assume that it supports the market merely because it displays the coin, pool, price, or liquidity. Likewise, a missing external quote does not by itself mean that the canonical Feel.cash route has no liquidity.

Always open the coin's canonical Feel.cash page, verify the full contract address and Base network, and review the current expected output, minimum received, price impact, fee, and route before signing.

## How the IPOD fee loop works

After the 15-second opening-protection period, the standard IPOD-pairing trading fee is **1.0527%**, including protocol fees. The net 1% is divided equally:

| Destination | Effective share of trading volume | Paid in |
| ----------------------------- | --------------------------------: | ------- |
| Creator or selected X account | **0.5%** | IPOD |
| IPOD buybacks | **0.5%** | IPOD |

Creator Fees are paid in IPOD. The other 0.5% is used for IPOD buybacks.

This creates a reinforcing loop when the markets are actively traded:

**More paired coins → more IPOD locked in new pools → more potential volume → more IPOD bought and accumulated.**

The opening-protection fee begins higher and decreases over the first 15 seconds. Read the live quote rather than assuming the standard rate during that window.
